Camp Buckwood: Guest Rules & Policies

1. Office Hours & Check‑In / Check‑Out

Office Hours

  • Sunday–Thursday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM (after Labor Day: 10 AM – 5 PM, check-in still permitted until 9 PM)

  • Friday & Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Check-In / Check-Out

  • Check-in: Between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM each day (reservations required for indoor lodging and RV sites)

  • Check-out: 12:00 PM (noon)

Late Stay Option (Day Pass):

  • Available until 9:00 PM

  • $10 if you stayed two or more nights; $15 if you stayed one night

  • Subject to availability, especially on holiday weekends

A full set of policies and rules will be presented to you upon check-in.


2. Gate Access & Quiet Hours

  • Entry and exit are strictly prohibited between 10:00 PM and sunrise. No exceptions.

  • All vehicle traffic is prohibited after dark.

  • Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM. Please refrain from loud voices, radios, or disruptive behavior at all times.

  • You must register at the office upon arrival (required by Indiana law). Anyone on the property for any purpose must register.


3. Property Use & Safety

  • Please stay within clearly marked campground boundaries—no trespassing on neighboring land.

  • Speed limit is 5 MPH throughout the campground. Vehicles must be moved off lanes before nightfall.

  • Fire pits must remain in place.

  • Be cautious walking: the terrain is natural and uneven.

  • Camp Buckwood is not liable for personal injury, property damage, or theft—visitors and their insurance are responsible.


4. Pets

  • Pets are allowed only in cabins and designated suites (Rusty Horseshoe, Stone Orchard, Southern Stripes), and must use private entrances.

  • Advance notice is required so we can prepare and pet-proof your accommodations.

  • Guests must bring their own linens – ask us if you need to know what size bed you will have in your accommodations.

  • Pets must be leashed, quiet, and supervised at all times; please pick up after them. Pets are not permitted on the pool deck.

  • Barkwood, our fenced dog area opposite the Lodge, is available for supervised off-leash time.


5. Trash & Cleanliness

  • Remove trash to the dumpsters during your stay or at check-out.

  • Burning clean, appropriate materials at your campfire site is acceptable.

  • Do not use shower house waste bins for general trash.

  • Keep sites orderly—food waste and litter attract wildlife.


6. Firearms, Alcohol & Smoking

  • Firearms and weapons are stricktly prohibited and grounds for a permanent ban.
  • Alcohol (21+ only) is permitted on the property. We reserve the right to refuse service or access to overly intoxicated guests.
  • Re-entry or departure under the influence of alcohol is not permitted.

  • Smoking is not allowed indoors. Cigarette butts must be deposited in outdoor ashtrays—never flushed.

  • A $150 smoking fee will be charged for violations in lodging.

  • Keep windows and doors closed when smoking outdoors near rooms.


7. Pool, Hot Tub & Lake Use

  • No lifeguards are on duty. Swimming, boating, or fishing is at your own risk.

  • Diving is prohibited in both the pool and lake.

  • Please shower before using the pool or hot tub.


8. Shower Houses

  • Facilities are located near the pool and next to Rusty’s (across from the Lodge).

  • Please conserve water; ensure taps are fully closed after use.

  • Only flush toilet paper—no wipes, plastics, cigarette butts, or other items. Our septic system is sensitive.


9. Conduct & Community Guidelines

Your membership and entry are conditional on respectful behavior:

  • Treat fellow guests and staff courteously.

  • Avoid disruptive behavior—this is a private, exclusive male-only (trans‑friendly) members‑only retreat.

  • No photos without explicit permission—protect guest privacy.

  • If you have feedback or concerns, please bring them to our attention promptly.
